510 gigawatts!
That’s how much renewable capacity was added to the global energy economy last year.
To put that in perspective, this is 50% more than what was added in 2022. That now puts total global renewable energy capacity at 3,700 gigawatts — or more than 30% of the world’s total energy mix.
But here’s the interesting part…
Under current policies and market conditions, global renewable energy capacity is now expected to reach 7,300 gigawatts in just four years, which would put renewable energy at more than 42% of the world’s total energy mix.
And the lion’s share of this growth is coming from solar.
In 2023, about 75% of new worldwide renewable energy capacity additions came from solar. While it still only represents about 5% of the world’s total energy mix, it’s expected that by 2028 this number will rise to 12.6%.
So you’re looking at an increase of more than 150% over the next 4 years. Or a CAGR of about 26%. As I always say, it’s not about where we are today but where we’ll be tomorrow.
And when it comes to energy, nothing is growing faster than solar.
Which is why it makes sense that some of the world’s wealthiest individuals have been investing heavily in solar.
Jeff Bezos has ponied up about $2 billion for some serious exposure to the solar industry. Elon Musk is in for about $2.6 billion, and Warren Buffett has invested more than $4 billion in the solar space.
Although, I should clarify that these guys aren’t just buying solar stocks.
They’re too smart for that.
Instead, they focus heavily on what’s known as private solar royalties, which essentially pay them monthly dividends on various solar projects around the world. Some of those royalty deals, by the way, offer double-digit returns too!
And make no mistake: these are sweetheart deals.
Like this one, which could turn a monthly $500 investment into more than $318,000.
Double that stake, and you’re looking at an estimated payout of $637,568.
Of course, the wealthy elite go in for more than just $500 or $1,000. But thanks to a recent revision of an old SEC law, these private solar royalty deals are now accessible to everyday investors like us. In fact, you can get in on some of these royalty deals for as little as $100 — and still earn monthly payments.
Like I said, these are sweetheart deals, but because they’ve never really been advertised, few investors know anything about them. Which is why I put together this short beginner’s guide to solar power royalties, which explains exactly how they work, how you can take part with as little as $100, and even start earning your royalty payments today.
Without a doubt, the solar industry will continue to grow like wildfire over the next five to ten years. There’s a lot of money to be made here, so you might as well make it. To a new way of life and a new generation of wealth… Jeff Siegel
